State Laws for Replacement Crash Parts

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has reviewed state laws and regulations related to the use of replacement crash parts in the repair of collision damaged motor vehicles. Currently, 44 states have laws governing the use of replacement crash parts.

Thirty-six states require notice to consumers when aftermarket crash parts are used. Seven require notice and consent of the consumer. Eight states do not require any notice or consent.
